Zeltro as a Relume alternative

Relume turns a brief into a sitemap, wireframes and a marketing site made from its component library, then exports to Webflow, Figma or React, or hosts it in its new beta. There is no database, sign-in or backend. Zeltro has your own AI agent build the working site or app on your own computer. What differs, and why people switch.

Relume is an AI site builder for agencies and freelancers. You write a brief and it gives you a sitemap, then wireframes, then a designed marketing site, all built from more than a thousand components its designers made. You can export the result to Webflow, Figma or React, or, since August 2026, publish it on Relume's own hosting, which is in beta.

It is a strong planning and design tool. But Relume says itself that "the AI does not write raw code. It selects from components our designers built and maintain." When the project needs to do more than look right, like store data, sign people in, or run code of its own, you need something that builds. That is where Zeltro comes in.

What a Relume export really gives you#

Relume exports in three directions, and each hands the build to someone else.

Webflow. "Export your entire project straight into Webflow, classes and structure intact." It needs a paid Relume plan, and from there the site lives on Webflow's hosting, on Webflow's plans.

Figma. "A native Figma file," on every plan, including the free one. It is a design, not a website.

React. Relume's marketing says "production-ready React with Tailwind CSS and Shadcn UI." Its React documentation is narrower: "You will only be exporting unstyled wireframes (layouts)… Exporting of the Relume Style Guide or Relume Designs is not supported with React export." To run it you need your own React, TypeScript and Tailwind project plus Relume's component package, and the backend is up to you.

There is also the component license, which dates from 2022: the components may be used in unlimited client projects, but "under no circumstances should the Item be re-distributed, regardless of any modifications," and end products "shouldn't include editable source files." Worth reading if you plan to hand clients the code.

What Zeltro does differently#

Zeltro is a do-it-yourself dev platform for your own machine. You describe what you want and it suggests how to build it: a ready-made app if one already does the job, or a framework and a database if it needs building from scratch. Then your AI agent builds it in a real project on your disk.

• It builds the working thing. Not a wireframe to hand to a developer: pages, forms that save to a database, sign-in, admin screens, whatever the project needs.
• Websites and apps in the same place. WordPress, Drupal and October CMS are built in, Ghost and Directus are one click away, and Astro, Next.js, Laravel and Django are there for anything custom. 214 ready-made apps in all.
• Your design, your code. Give your agent a sitemap, a brief or a screenshot of a layout you like, and it builds to match, in code you can take anywhere.
• You choose the AI and who pays for it. A subscription you already have, a low-cost model through OpenRouter, or a local model. No monthly allowance that pauses mid-project.
• Your work stays yours. Your code, prompts and keys never go to Zeltro, and there is no account. The app is free for personal use (businesses pay US$99.99 once) and its command line tool is open source.

Before you switch#

• Relume's sitemap and wireframe flow is a fast way to plan a site. Zeltro starts from a description instead, and your AI agent plans the pages as it builds. If you already have a Relume sitemap, paste it into Zeltro's message box and build from it.
• Relume's components are made by designers. Zeltro's agent writes its own markup and styles, so give it a reference, a screenshot or a site you like, and it matches the look.
• Relume Publish hosts in one click (in beta). Zeltro runs the site on your own computer until you put it on a server. If you would rather not deal with that, I will take it live for you.

Why people switch to Zeltro#

• The site has to do things: save form data properly, sign people in, take payments, run code of its own.
• They want code they own, not styled components they may not redistribute, or a Webflow project on someone else's plan.
• They do not want to pay for an AI allowance that pauses until next month.
